F1 in Schools is a global STEM programme that introduces students to innovation, engineering, and motorsport. Teams use industry tools like CAD and CNC machining to design, build, and race miniature Formula 1‑style cars — plus manage branding, sponsorship, and project delivery.
We’re Rutherfordium, one of the pioneering F1 in Schools teams from New Zealand, representing Saint Kentigern College. We’re pushing boundaries to qualify for the World Finals — and we want to help bring the programme back to NZ to inspire future STEM and racing enthusiasts.

Drives the engineering side — SolidWorks modelling, design iteration, and performance decisions backed by physics.

Strong leadership and organisational skills that keep the team aligned. Primary contact for stakeholders and sponsor communication.
We focus on real sponsor value: clear visibility, tidy deliverables, and great storytelling.
We recognise the importance of delivering strong return on investment (ROI). Sponsors receive brand exposure through logo placements on our car, uniforms, pit display, and portfolios — plus social media features and public acknowledgements. Team members gain hands‑on experience in STEM, business, and leadership; our school gains positive exposure and stronger industry connections.
